Google's AI Chief Thinks Elon Musk Is "Borderline Irresponsible" With His Killer AI Warnings

Artificial Intelligence is a huge talking point in the tech industry, not just for all the applications it has but also because of how it can go wrong or be misused.

In the past, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has repeatedly warned both the industry and legislators that AI development needs to be regulated because it can go horribly wrong. Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg, on the other hand, believes the entire thing is seriously blown out of proportion. Now, it looks like Google’s AI chief John Giannandrea is also weighing in, siding with Zuckerberg on the issue.

“There’s a huge amount of unwarranted hype around AI right now,” Giannandrea said at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco, according to Bloomberg.
