Honest Reviews Of Haseena Parkar, Newton & Bhoomi. Which One Will You Watch?

1) Bhoomi

This plot revolves around Arun Sachdeva (Sanjay Dutt), who plays the role of a shoe-smith and his daughter Bhoomi (Aditi) who has been gang-raped. How they plan a revenge form the major crux of the story. The concept of rape has become very common in Bollywood and so, there’s no newness in Bhoomi. People are not interested in social movies these days but still, Sanjay Dutt & Aditi might manage to keep the audiences hooked. Aditi’s character has got a good and sweet look, which is why audience might favor her, but overall, the script is not that good. You can expect some stupid lines every now and then. Camera work along with good and entertaining numbers have got a thumbs up. Overall, it’s an average movie.
Overall, A.B.I gives it a 3 star rating.

2) Haseena Parkar!

Hassena Parkar is a crime biopic revolving around the life of Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar. This Apoorva Lakhia directorial has failed to win the hearts of audience because it’s far from reality. The script, setting and the background have not created the needed impact. Siddhant Kapoor has not done any justice to his character of Dawood Ibrahim. Although Shraddha Kapoor’s transformation is worth an applause, her acting has badly failed. Looks as if researchers have not done their research properly, which is why the film is lacking a lot on authenticity. The dialogues of the movie are not that gripping and even the locations i.e. Mulund, Bhandup etc. show a similarity throughout. This is the first time that Bollywood has made a movie on female underworld don, but sadly, it has got thumbs down!

A.B.I gives it 2 stars out of 5

3) Newton!

Newton is what we say, a “Class” in itself and gives us the “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron” feeling. Newton, starring Rajkummar Rao revolves around the life of Nutan Kumar, a middle class chap, who takes the decision of changing his name to Newton so that he’s not ridiculed. He becomes a government clerk in few years and goes to Dandakaranya region (Maoist area) to conduct a fair election. There, we can see his encounter with the gravitational theory of Newton.

Newton a plain film, yet crisp and entertaining to the extent, that it raises important questions without sounding preachy or being too melodramatic.
The backdrop might be election voting, but the film doesn’t confine itself to it and pans through various other elements of the current political and social scenario of the country – dowry, child marriage, and corruption among other things.
Without being very melodramatic, the film conveys a lot. All the actors Anjali Patil, Mukesh Prajapati, Pankaj Tripathi and Raghubir Yadav have given superb performances. Rao has mastered the art perfectly and has delivered the finest of details really well. Dialogues are conveyed perfectly through blinking and actions.
This social political drama is something that everyone must watch.

 A.I.B gives it a 4.5 star rating
